Step 01

Case Setup

Enter what the host gives you. Everything here feeds the live script, plea prompts, and the case chip. It auto-saves to this browser and survives refreshes.

Search the full CUSA Code of Justice by number or name (e.g. "1-0-17" or "trespass"). Each one auto-fills a "how do you plead" prompt. You can also type a custom value.

Step 02 · Live

Bench Script

Your lines, in order. Gold = you say it (click Copy or the line). Grey = what to expect back. Tick each step to track where you are. Never rush - read at a steady pace.

Verdict & Sentencing

Rule each charge guilty or not guilty, then pick ONE sentence per guilty count (from the Verdict Guidelines). It stacks the counts, totals the arrest time, flags the 5-day discord cap, and writes a copy-paste verdict log. Remember - you cannot decide a verdict unilaterally.

Step 03 · Reference

Articles

The full CUSA Code of Justice - definitions and punishment ranges. Use it to check what a charge means and what sentence it allows when you weigh the verdict. Blue = Local (Title I), red = Federal (Title II), gold = General framework.

Step 03

Objections

When a party calls "Objection!", you run the exchange. Your lines are ready to copy. Decide sustain (agree) or overrule (disagree).

🧭
Layout. Defense sits on the left, Prosecution on the right (from your view at the bench).
🕰️
Pace. Never rush the judge or the proceedings - rushing puts a bad profile on you. Stay measured and professional throughout.
⚖️
Assume everything stated is true. If the defense contradicts the prosecution without factual backing, you may side with the prosecution (they stated it first) - unless the defense shows the prosecution contradicted themselves.
🎯
Burden of proof. It rests on the prosecution - they must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Watch whether they actually meet it before your verdict.
📋
Fair Trial Act (before you accept). Confirm the prosecution has sufficient evidence - it must demonstrate at least 3 articles for the case to proceed. If it isn’t substantial enough, you may decline the request.
🚫
No unilateral verdict. You cannot decide the verdict on your own - doing so can get your judge license revoked. After the verdict, tell court staff the guilty articles so they administer punishment, then log the case for records.
